INSTITUTIONAL
JH Spain has worked with numerous private schools, colleges and universities as well as public school districts since the late 1980s. Over these years we’ve learned a thing or two about the importance of well-built and well-maintained school buildings and properties.
Christ the King Parish
Working with WarrenStreet Architects and many fine contractors, JH Spain completed the historic renovation of St. John Church on South Main Street in Concord, originally built in 1869. We pulled the specialty trades together and the results were spectacular.
Concord Christian Academy
Concord Christian Academy chose JH Spain in to handle the school’s most ambitious renovation with the addition of a gymnasium and cultural performing arts center at the school. The total project entailed the construction of a 38,565 SF two story steel building addition with a 11,000 SF gymnasium, 490 seat auditorium with upgraded sound/lighting systems, 5 new classrooms, and a 4,000 SF lobby/function space.
Groton School Faculty Housing
JH Spain built a 4-family townhouse for faculty housing while working closely with KMW Architects’ Bruce Wood. Project required reconstruction of the rear entrance to the school with all underground utilities upgraded to service the complex, all while under extreme conditions.
St. Paul's School
Working with Bruce Wood, KMW Architects, Boston, MA, numerous projects have been completed at Saint Paul’s School. A storage facility was converted into a Rowing Team’s Indoor Training Center with fiberglass rowing hulls and computer monitor systems to assess individual rower’s techniques.
